Those who have the degrees recognised by the government of India such as AIME and ICE and students pursuing integrated masters’ degree and dual degree programs can also apply for the GATE 2013.
     The exam itself is quite short with 3 hours duration where the candidates have to answer 60 multiple choice type questions and the total marks are 100, with wrong answers carrying negative markings. Looking at the pattern, one would observe that the exam might be easy. But in reality, the questions are tough with some of them being problem based. The answers are to be marked in the optical response sheet. With hundred thousands of students passing out from the various colleges in the country, the total number of applicants runs into lakhs every year.
